Anyone else feel that the ABC pre-game was sophomoric? Quick hits:
- So they throw it to Stu ‘crazy eye’ Scott standing in front of Cuban on the stairmaster. Made for an extremely awkward interview. The only thing Scott can think to ask Cuban is about his blog questions to Shaq?
o That’s the only effing thing you can think of to ask him, Scott?
o This is before the biggest game in franchise HISTORY and you’re asking something about his blog???? Give me a freakin’ break.
Then, he throws it back to Dan(ica) Patrick, who starts talking OVER the freakin’ commercial. It was very herky-jerky…
Then, the spare sitting to Dan(ica) Patrick’s left starts dressing Cuban down because Stu Scott DESERVED 3 minutes of his time??? No, he doesn’t moron – it’s the other way around.
Hey, ESPN/ABC:
- Stu Scott didn’t HAVE to interview Cuban if he wasn’t willing to change HIS pre-game schedule.
- You don’t HAVE to throw it to Dumbass Scott if you don’t like the setup.
- Stu Scott DESERVES nothing.
Anyway. Great game. I feel really good about the Mavs winning by 10, even with Dirk and J-Ho being held to 26 total points. That just tells me:
- We’re deep. We’ve got more weapons
- JET is clutch
- We’re playing good D
- This is our year
Go Vammer!

26 years, and I don't know what to do...
How does this work? The Mavs are finally in the NBA Finals and I am trying to figure out how I am supposed to act. I guess I'll have to draw from the Cowboys superbowl years.
I have so much man-love for Dirk right now, it's not even funny. But lets not forget J-Ho, Jet, Diop and Stack.
Stack - 11 year vet. Has been so instrumental in getting this team to where it is. At times, is so clutch. But man, there are those moments when he just loses his mind and does the strangest things that make you wonder why he's even on the court. Still, it's those clutch moments like he had in game six last night that point to his value to this team.
Diop - what, are you kidding me? What a freak he is on D. Diaw finally figured him out. I don't want to get out of the 'here and now' because these are good times, but can you see the potential this kid has? The more pressure time he spends in games could fully translate into the 2nd coming of Bill Russell - okay I'm way ahead of myself, but it is fun to speculate.
Jet - need ya, big fella. Cut out the early foul trouble. I guess you can't do that if you want to keep it real. But keeping it real doesn't work so well when your ass is riding the pine. Need you in the game.
Josh - Keep doing what you are doing.
I moved to Dallas in 1988. Remember those days? Short shorts and Don Carter Cowboy hats...
Being a Kansas State Alum, I always wanted to go to a Mavs game when they were hosting Golden State so I could get a pic with Ro and Mitch Richmond. Alas, that never happened. Put that on the list of things I wish I would've done in my life. I guess it could still happen, if I could ever figure out where Mitch is these days. (does anyone remember the K-state B-Ball days with Hensen at the point and Richmond and Norris 'Sarge' Colemen at forwards?) let me hear from you!
Good times. Go Mavver.
