Devastated

The Mavs are summarily dismissed by the Warrior's, in six. So, they go from a 67-win season, to this? They completely shied away from the pressure and spotlight. At no time in this series did I ever did I ever sense they shared the stomach for the fight the Warrior's had. The Mavs completely underestimated the Warriors.

Hats off to Nellie. He had a game plan, and his players rose to the occassion. They even played and shot better than their regular season stats would indicate.

They wanted it more.

I thought we had learned from our lessons in last year's playoffs. You know what I mean: Drive to the basket and good things will happen. Instead, the Mavs got "Jumpshot happy", and the jumpshots weren't falling.

So, when the shots aren't falling, doesn't Avery implore them to take it to the rim? Was the Warrior's defense so good that they couldn't?

I find it very hard to believe that Avery didn't have an answer. Was it a lack of game plan or lack of execution? Probably both.

So much was exposed in this series. Avery was exposed. Dirk was exposed (8 points, are you kidding me??) Stack was exposed. Did JET even play last night? Get back to me on that, will ya.

What does Cuban do now? I see him with three options:

1. Trade Dirk. but for who? Who's out there that can lead this thing to a championship? Garnett? Personally, I was hoping Shaq would come here a few years ago. Instead he went to Miami. (I don't even know if a lineup including Shaq & Dirk would work. Need a fearless speedster to mix in).

2. Bring in players to surround Dirk and take some of the pressure off of him.

3. Sell the team, tuck his tail and go make another billion doing something else. I really don't think this will happen. But we've seen his impulsiveness in the past.

I'm still a MFFL. It will be difficult next season. I am going to try to not knee jerk too much. But I already have.

LOST Thoughts and Points to Ponder from "One of Us"

 Why would Juliet be ‘hoarse’ after drinking the spiked oj and the sub ride to the island? Remember Ethan telling her she’d be hoarse for a while?
 When showing the X-rays to Ben, Juliet states there is a tumor on Ben’s L4-vertibrae. He’s immediately terrified. She asks why, he says it’s because he has cancer…She reminds him that she said it was only a tumor. What gives? Did he know all along it was cancerous? Did he plant the X-rays?
 What is this ‘work’ of Juliet’s that must be finished? I don’t think it’s as simple as meets the eye.
 Ben is conning Jack just like Juliet, and Jack is definitely in on whatever the ploy is. Ben dangles the hope of leaving the island and that’s enough to keep them sucked in?
 Desmond is the only one that is not part of ‘the others’ or 815. Is that significant? Or is it that Desmond shares the same prophetic visions as Ben, and Ben wants him out of the picture before Desmond figures ‘it’ out?

I'll have all my fans know that I predicted last week that this years Mavs team will NOT make it to the NBA Finals. This is not something I am happy about. But, unless they have another gear, or a new level of badassedness, I fear for the worse.
